Woman killed as ‘chander gari’ overturns in Bandarban, 4 injured

A woman was killed and four others were injured as a ‘chander gari’ lost control and overturned Ruma upazila in Bandarban.

Four more people were injured in the accident that occurred on Monday (March 4) morning.

According to police and locals, the woman died on the spot when the ‘chander gari’ lost control and overturned on the side of the road at Nazerat Bompara area of Sadar union in Ruma.

The deceased has been identified as Lingey Khumi (18), daughter of Kuhai Khumi hailed from Kyatai Para village of Ward No-9 of Sadar union.

Four more passengers of the car were injured in the accident. They are Prusa Aung Marma (55), Thoai Sa Mong Marma (55), Mongsing Wong Marma (25) and Lina Khumi (19).

On information, the locals rushed to the spot, rescued the injured and sent them to Ruma Health Complex, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ruma Police Station Md Shahjahan.

The injured are being treated at Ruma Health Complex, he added.
