Yunus to attend BIMSTEC summit in Bangkok: Foreign Adviser
Interim Government Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus is set to attend the BIMSTEC Summit in Bangkok, Thailand, during the first week of September, marking his first foreign trip as head of the interim government.
A source concerned the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed this today.
Prof. Yunus is scheduled to deliver a speech at the Summit on September 4, where Bangladesh will assume the chairmanship of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).
He is scheduled to depart Dhaka for Bangkok on September 3 and return on September 5.
Yunus is also expected to hold several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Summit, including one with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
