The sixth BIMSTEC summit will be held in Bangkok, Thailand from April 2 to 4. On the sidelines of this summit, Bangladesh has written to New Delhi to organize a bilateral meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus. However, on March 21, the Indian media Hindustan Times reported, citing three sources in the country's government, that this meeting is not taking place.

But Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar did not rule out the possibility of a Yunus-Modi meeting. on Saturday (March 22), Jaishankar told the country's Parliamentary Consultative Committee on Foreign Affairs that this meeting is under consideration.

Jaishankar told the parliamentary committee that there is a possibility of Prime Minister Modi attending the BIMSTEC summit from April 2 to 4. At that time, members of the consultative committee asked him whether Prime Minister Modi would hold a bilateral meeting with the Chief Advisor to the interim government of Bangladesh. Without giving any clear answer, Jaishankar said, "It is under consideration."

Meanwhile, the influential media outlet The Hindu reported earlier that Jaishankar told the members of this advisory committee about the movement against former autocratic Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, that they had come to know about the movement of the people of Bangladesh against Hasina. But they could not intervene in it. The reason, he said, was that they did not have the influence to exert the "necessary influence" on Hasina. They could only give "advice" to the autocratic Hasina.
