Zero tolerance policy against corruption in budget for FY25
Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmood Ali has announced the adoption of zero tolerance policy against corruption in his Thursday's budget speech.
The Finance Minister said that the government has adopted a 'zero tolerance policy against corruption' to create a good governance-based administrative structure for the socio-economic development of the country by curbing and preventing corruption.
"The government is working tirelessly to prevent corruption and reduce the suffering of the people through digitization in various sectors. Anti-Corruption Commission to take effective measures against corruption."
For this purpose, Digital Archive, Digital Forensic Lab, Investigations and Prosecution Management System have been introduced, he said.
The finance minister said that 504 'anti-corruption committees' have been formed in every city, district and upazila level of the country with the people who are acceptable to all in the society in order to build public awareness for the purpose of preventing corruption.
'Mass hearing' programme is being conducted to prevent corruption in government and semi-government offices and to ensure empowerment of people in receiving services, he said.
A total of 6,638 salesperson-less 'Satata Stores' have been launched in various schools and madrasas with the aim of spreading the practice of honesty among future generations.
Besides, 25,542 'Satata Sanghs' have been formed so far with the aim of developing honesty, ethics and values among the student society.
Anti-corruption meetings, seminars, human chains, rallies, street dramas and debate competitions are being organized to increase people's involvement in preventing corruption, he said.
