ZI Khan Panna wants to be Hasina's counsel
Senior Supreme Court lawyer ZI Khan Panna has said that he wants to fight the legal battle on behalf of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in International Crimes Tribunal in genocide case.
He said this in response to a question during a press briefing on suspension of bail of former Additional Attorney General Mehdi Hasan Chowdhury on Thursday.
Lawyer Panna also complained that the number of cases filed has increased relatively compared to the past. "It is not good for the country. Rather, it will increase the harassment of innocent people," he said.
Earlier, the Appellate Division on Thursday suspended the bail granted by the High Court to former Additional Attorney General Mehdi Hasan Chowdhury in a murder case filed over July-August killings.
The Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Syed Refat Ahmed passed the order.
