E-passport service launched at Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad

The Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad, Pakistan has officially launched the e-passport service.

The inauguration ceremony was held on Friday (September 19) with Nasimul Gani, senior secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, present as the chief guest. Bangladesh High Commissioner to Pakistan Md Iqbal Hossain Khan presided over the programme. Commander Md Shoaib Khan, deputy project director of the E-passport and Automated Border Control Management Project, attended as special guest.

The event began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and ended with special prayers seeking peace and prosperity for the country. Expatriate Bangladeshis, officials and staff members of the High Commission along with their families were present.

The High Commission said the introduction of e-passport service in Islamabad will make access to services easier for expatriate Bangladeshis and further strengthen people-to-people ties between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
