European Union Ambassador to Dhaka Michael Miller has assured continued cooperation in Bangladesh's reform process. He stated that the long-standing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the EU have now evolved into a comprehensive and multidimensional partnership.

The ambassador made the remarks during a courtesy meeting with Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday morning, April 15.

The meeting discussed the long-standing mutually beneficial relations between Bangladesh and the EU. Particular emphasis was placed on issues of mutual interest, including current reform initiatives, migration management, skill development, rule of law and good governance.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the foreign minister's upcoming visit to Brussels was also discussed in detail. The foreign minister will lead a delegation on that visit. A key objective of the visit is to complete the initial process of signing a Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA), which aims to give bilateral cooperation a more institutionalised and strengthened form.

Ambassador Miller assured the EU's continued support for Bangladesh's reform process. Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman thanked the EU, describing it as one of Bangladesh's key development and trade partners.
