Ex industries minister Nurul Majid Humayun dies in prison
Former industries minister advocate Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun has died in prison.
The news of his death was confirmed on Monday, September 29, in a Facebook post by his son, Manjurul Majid Mahmud Sadi.
A local Awami League leader confirmed that he breathed his last at around 6:45am at Kashimpur prison.
In his post, Sadi wrote: “My father is no more. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Please keep him in your prayers. May Allah grant him Jannah.”
Humayun was arrested by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) last Wednesday, September 25, from Gulshan in the capital. On the same day, a court ordered him to be sent to prison in connection with a murder case in Narsingdi.
RAB’s media wing official, assistant superintendent of police ANM Imran Khan, said Humayun was arrested on charges of involvement in attacks and killings during an anti-discrimination student movement in Madhabdi, Narsingdi, on August 4 last year.
