Ex-Attorney General Salauddin Ahmed no more

Former Attorney General and senior lawyer Salauddin Ahmed passed away on Sunday at Square Hospital in Dhaka. He was 77.

Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajol confirmed the news of his death.

Salauddin Ahmed served as Attorney General during the caretaker government from 20 July 2008 to 12 January 2009. Prior to that, he was Additional Attorney General from 13 February 2007.

He earned his LLB from University of Dhaka in 1978 and an LLM from Columbia University, USA, in 1984. He joined the legal profession in 1980, became a lawyer of the High Court in 1982, and was enrolled in the Appellate Division in 2002. Before his legal career, he taught at the University of Dhaka and the Institute of Business Administration.
