Police have arrested Hajera Khatun Nargis, former councillor of Dhaka North City Corporation and a leader of the Awami League’s women’s wing, from a residence in Gulshan late Tuesday night. The arrest was made around 11:45pm during a raid by Gulshan police acting on a tip-off. Police confirmed that Hazera faces a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act and is a suspected accused in several murder cases linked to the anti-discrimination student movement. Authorities said legal proceedings against her are underway.

রাজধানীর গুলশান থেকে ঢাকা উত্তর সিটি কর্পোরেশনের সাবেক নারী কাউন্সিলর ও মহিলা আওয়ামী লীগ নেত্রী হাজেরা খাতুন নার্গিসকে গ্রেফতার করেছে পুলিশ। মঙ্গলবার (২৩ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২৫) রাত আনুমানিক ১১টা ৪৫ মিনিটে গুলশান থানা এলাকার একটি বাসায় অভিযান চালিয়ে তাকে গ্রেফতার করে ডিএমপির গুলশান থানা পুলিশ। গুলশান থানা সূত্রে জানা গেছে, গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে এ অভিযান পরিচালনা করা হয়। তার বিরুদ্ধে গুলশান থানায় সন্ত্রাসবিরোধী আইনে একটি মামলা রয়েছে। এছাড়াও বৈষম্যবিরোধী ছাত্র আন্দোলনের সময় সংঘটিত একাধিক হত্যা মামলায় তিনি সন্দেহভাজন আসামি বলে পুলিশ জানিয়েছে। গ্রেফতারকৃত হাজেরা খাতুন নার্গিসের বিরুদ্ধে আইনগত ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের প্রক্রিয়া চলছে বলে নিশ্চিত করেছে গুলশান থানা পুলিশ।
