Ex-GMP commissioner Nazmul suspended

Dr. Md. Nazmul Karim Khan, former Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (now attached to Police Headquarters), has been temporarily suspended from his government post, according to a Ministry of Home Affairs notification signed by Senior Secretary Nasimul Ghani on Monday (November 10).

The order cites public interest as the reason for the suspension.

During this period, he will remain attached to the Home Ministry and receive standard allowances.

A 15th batch BCS officer, Nazmul Karim holds a PhD in Agriculture from Japan. He was previously placed on compulsory retirement in February 2023 while serving in CID’s Forensic Division, reinstated in August 2024, and appointed GMP Commissioner before being transferred to Police Headquarters on September 1.
