The deceased, Chowdhury Rubel, 30, died early Monday (July 27) while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), widely known as the Pangu Hospital, in Dhaka.

Rubel, a resident of Banchanagar under Ward No. 4 of Lakshmipur municipality, was the former president of Jonokalyan High School JCD. He was critically injured in the crash around 9:30pm on Sunday near the Department of Youth Development on the Majuchowdhury Hat Road in Lakshmipur town.

According to local sources, he was travelling in a CNG-run autorickshaw when a truck collided with the vehicle, leaving him with severe head and multiple body injuries. He was first taken to a local hospital before being shifted to Dhaka for advanced treatment, where he later died.
