Ex-MP Anwarul Azim passes away

Colonel M Anwarul Azim, former MP from Laksam-Manoharganj in Cumilla, has passed away.

He breathed his last at Evercare Hospital in the capital early on Saturday (May 31).

Anwarul Azim has left wife, a son and a daughter to mourn his death.

According to the family, the funeral of the deceased will be held in multiple phases. The first janaza will take place at 10:30am at the Dhaka New DOHS Central Mosque, followed by a second at 12 noon in front of the BNP Central Office in Nayapaltan. Subsequent funeral prayers will be held after Asr at the Laksam Government Pilot High School ground, after Maghrib at the Manoharganj School and College ground, and finally after Isha at his village home in Sharifpur.

The death of the veteran BNP leader has plunged his constituency and greater Cumilla into mourning, with people sharing tributes and memories on social media.
