Expat voter app and final voter list to be released on Nov 18: EC

The Election Commission (EC) will release the expatriate voter app and the final voter list on November 18.

EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed disclosed this information during a briefing held at the EC office on Sunday, November 9.

He said, “Preparations to launch the expatriate voter app are almost complete. The final voter list will also be published on the same day.”

When asked about Tarique Rahman’s hunger strike, Akhtar Ahmed said, “The registration was denied due to certain conditions. If anyone is aggrieved, they have the right to appeal legally. Instead of hunger strikes, legal steps should be taken.”

He further said that after the gazette of the code of conduct is published, the schedule for dialogues with political parties will be determined.

According to EC data, expatriate voter registration is currently active in 11 countries. Most recently, the process has started in New York and Washington, United States.
