Explosives recovered in Sylhet during RAB-BGB joint operation

A large quantity of explosives has been recovered during a joint operation by RAB-9 and BGB in the border area of Jokiganj upazila in Sylhet.

RAB-9 Media Officer and Additional Superintendent of Police K M Shahidul Islam Sohag confirmed the information on Monday, February 16.

He said a joint team of RAB and BGB conducted an operation around 1 am on Sunday night in the Raygram passenger shed area adjacent to the Atgram Petrobangla point in Raiganj area of Kazalsar union in Jokiganj upazila based on secret information.

During the search, 15 power gels and 17 electric detonators were recovered in abandoned condition wrapped in polythene behind the passenger shed. However, no one could be immediately identified or arrested in connection with the incident, the RAB official informed.

The recovered explosives were handed over to Jokiganj Police Station on Monday.
