Detectives of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Md Nojibur Rahman, the former principal secretary to the prime minister and former chairman of the National Bureau of Revenue (NBR), from capital's Gulshan area on Sunday night. Rezaul Karim Mallik, additional deputy commissioner (ADC-DB) of the DMP, confirmed the matter. He said the arrestee will be presented before a Dhaka court on Monday. Nojibur served as the principal secretary to the Prime Minister's Office and as chairman of the National Bureau of Revenue during the tenure of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয়ের সাবেক মুখ্য সচিব ও জাতীয় রাজস্ব বোর্ডের (এনবিআর) সাবেক চেয়ারম্যান নজিবুর রহমানকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে ডিবি পুলিশ। ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশের (ডিএমপি) গোয়েন্দা বিভাগ সূত্রে জানা গেছে, রবিবার (৬ অক্টোবর) রাজধানীর গুলশান থেকে নজিবুরকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়। আরও জানা গেছে, গত ৫ আগস্ট আওয়ামী লীগ সরকারের পতনের পর তাকে আসামি করে বিভিন্ন থানায় একাধিক মামলা দায়ের করা হয়। ডিএমপির অতিরিক্ত উপকমিশনার (এডিসি-ডিবি) রেজাউল করিম মল্লিক এ বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন। তিনি জানান, নজিবুরকে সোমবার ঢাকার আদালতে হাজির করা হবে।
