Ex-President Abdul Hamid's house vandalized, set on fire
An enraged crowd in Kishoreganj vandalized and set fire to the house of former President Md. Abdul Hamid. The district Awami League office was also demolished with an excavator.
These incidents occurred between 8:00 pm and 10:30 pm on Thursday (February 6).
According to eyewitnesses, around 8:00 pm, a group of angry students and locals used an excavator to demolish the Awami League office on Station Road in Kishoreganj town, then set it on fire.
Around 9:00 pm, the protesters vandalized the residence of Syed Ashfaqul Islam, Joint General Secretary of the Kishoreganj District Awami League, in the Kharampatti area.
The mob then attacked and ransacked the house of Biplob Sarkar, an officer of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police. Following this, they stormed the residence of former President Abdul Hamid, where they engaged in arson, vandalism, and looting.
Kishoreganj Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdullah Al Mamun
confirmed the matter. He said, "We have received reports of attacks and vandalism at several locations, including the house of former President Abdul Hamid. Investigations are underway."
