Ex-principal secretary Kamal Chowdhury among 3 detained

A team from the Detective Branch (DB) of police have detained three individuals, including Kamal Abul Naser Chowdhury, the former principal secretary and adviser to ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

DB police detained them during a drive conducted early Wednesday (October 2) at various locations across the capital.

The arrested also includes Mesbah Uddin, the former secretary of Youth and Sports, and Adnan, a co-ordinator for Bashundhara Group.

Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed this.

He said, "All three are accused in multiple cases, and the investigation process is ongoing."

Kamal Abul Naser Chowdhury who retired as Principal Secretary in 2017, formerly acted as the chief co-ordinator for the National Committee commemorating the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
