Extra metro rail services to run for Khaleda Zia’s funeral

Additional metro rail services will operate on Wednesday to facilitate attendance at the funeral of former prime minister and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited disclosed the information in a statement.

The company said special metro services will run in addition to the regular schedule on December 31 to allow mourners to attend the funeral prayer.

According to BNP, the funeral prayer will be held after Zuhr at 2pm at the South Plaza of the National Parliament complex and the adjoining Manik Mia Avenue area. She will be laid to rest beside Ziaur Rahman’s grave at Zia Udyan.
