FA vows no austerity in upcoming election allocation

Finance Adviser (FA) Dr Salehuddin Ahmed on Tuesday (July 1) assured that there will be no shortage of funds for the upcoming national elections, emphasizing that the government will ensure full financial support for the democratic process.

"We will not be stingy with the allocation of money for the upcoming parliamentary elections," the adviser said in response to journalists following a meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on Government Procurement.

During the meeting, several key procurement and infrastructure decisions were also approved. These include container handling operations at Chattogram Port, procurement of DAP and urea fertilizers, and a decision linked to LNG supply, which may potentially boost fertilizer production if gas availability increases.

Additionally, the government has approved renovation work for 30 schools in Rangpur as part of ongoing efforts to improve education infrastructure.
