Fake student detained at Dhaka Medical College

A young woman identified as Monika Akhter Mitu has been detained by college authorities at the Ladies Common Room of Dhaka Medical College while wearing a fake ID card and apron. She was later handed over to police.

Other students grew suspicious after seeing her at the Ladies Common Room on the ground floor of the old building around noon on Tuesday, April 21. After speaking with her and verifying her ID card, they confirmed she was not a student of the college. She was then detained and handed over to college authorities.

The detained woman said she is the daughter of Momin Ali of Tongibari upazila in Munshiganj and currently lives in Nawabganj. However, she did not disclose why she had come to the college with a fake identity.

Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH Hospital Police Outpost, said she has been handed over to Shahbagh Police Station.
