Families of July martyr, injured take position in front of Secretariat
The family members of the martyrs and injured in the July uprising have taken a stand in front of the Secretariat.
They are holding this programme demanding the resignation of the interim government's Law adviser Asif Nazrul.
The protest first started from in front of the National Press Club at 11am on Tuesday. Later around 12:30 pm, they gathered in front of Gate No. 2 of the Secretariat with a procession, halting the traffic movement.
The protesters raised various slogans, including— 'Resignation, resignation, resignation, Asif Nazrul's resignation', 'One point, one demand, Asif Nazrul's resignation', 'Murderers roam outside, what is the judiciary doing', 'My brother is in the grave, why is the murderer outside', 'My brother's blood, I will not let it go in vain'.
Bulbul Karim, father of martyr Alif Ahmed Siam, told the media that they have not received justice even after a year and the government is making a joke in the name of justice. He alleged that the accused are taking bail in exchange for money, while the law adviser is not taking any action.
Injured Aminul Islam warned that the consequences will not be good if the injured people take to the streets again.
Abul Hasan, father of martyr Shahriar Hasan Alvi, said that this government came to power in exchange for the blood of thousands of martyrs, but today they have to take to the streets to demand the resignation of their law adviser.
Earlier, when the martyr's family and the injured people wanted to take a procession towards the Secretariat, the police on duty stopped them. At that time, a scuffle broke out between the two sides.
