Family Card funds not expenditure but investment for nation: Minister
Water Resources Minister Md Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee has said the government's financial assistance provided to female heads of households through the Family Card is not an expenditure but an investment in the country's future.
He said through this assistance, women are not only meeting their family needs but also saving money and ensuring their children's education.
The minister made these remarks at a meeting organised in the South Chiladi area of Kushakhali union under Chandragonj upazila in Lakshmipur on Friday morning, July 3.
He said the government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is providing financial assistance to female heads of households through the Family Card. Many women are saving money alongside meeting necessary expenses.
"If a mother is conscious and can use this government assistance to educate her children, then the entire nation will benefit. That is why the government considers this not as expenditure but as an investment for the future generation," he said.
Shah Mohammad Emran, president of the district Olama Dal, and former chairman of Dighli Union Parishad Golam Sarwar, along with local leaders, were present at the event.
