Family devastated as two brothers die on the same day in Hajiganj

A heartbreaking situation has unfolded in Hajiganj, Chandpur, where two brothers died on the same day. The elder brother was buried in the morning, and the younger brother passed away that night. The family has been left shattered by the loss of both siblings within hours, casting a pall of deep grief over the area.

The incident took place on Sunday, June 28, at the residence of Shuku Commissioner in ward no 11 of the Randhunimura area, Hajiganj municipality.

According to family sources, Shahin, a well-known fish trader, passed away early on Sunday morning. His funeral was held after Zuhr prayers at the local family graveyard. Relatives were still grieving the loss of the elder brother when Alamgir Hossain, the younger brother, died at 10:50 pm that night. Alamgir had been ill for a long time and was undergoing treatment. He was recently brought back home from Dhaka after his condition deteriorated.

The family said Shahin was the eldest of four brothers, and Alamgir was the second. They are survived by their mother, one sister, two other brothers and numerous relatives, well-wishers and admirers.

The loss of two brothers on the same day has plunged the family into mourning. Relatives, neighbours, local businessmen and people from various walks of life have expressed their condolences.

Local resident Md Jasim Uddin Joni Chowdhury said such a tragic incident is very rare in their area.
