Farida Parveen’s health deteriorates, admitted to ICU again

Renowned Lalon singer and Ekushey Padak winner Farida Parveen has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after a further deterioration in her health, following a routine dialysis session.

Parveen, who has long been suffering from kidney complications, undergoes dialysis twice a week. On September 2, she was taken to the hospital for her regular treatment. However, her condition worsened shortly after the procedure, prompting doctors to move her to the ICU for intensive care.

Dr. Ashish Kumar Chakraborty, Managing Director of the hospital, confirmed the development on Friday, stating that the veteran artiste’s physical condition declined significantly post-dialysis, necessitating her immediate transfer to the ICU.

Her son, Imam Nomani, also spoke to the media: “I took my mother for dialysis. Later, when her condition deteriorated, doctors advised moving her to the ICU.”

Farida Parveen has been grappling with multiple health issues for an extended period. In addition to kidney disease, she also suffers from lung complications, diabetes, high blood pressure, and thyroid problems.

Last month, she was hospitalized in Dhaka after a sudden decline in her health and had to spend several days under medical supervision, including time in the ICU. Her latest admission marks another worrying turn in her ongoing health battle.
