Farooki suffering from appendicitis, surgery likely at night

Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostafa Sarwar Farooki has been admitted to the capital's Square Hospital after suddenly falling ill in Cox’s Bazar. Doctors said that he may have to undergo a complicated surgery.

A top official of Square Hospital confirmed this information to the media at 7 pm on Sunday.

He said: "A board has been formed for the adviser's treatment. It was informed in the board meeting at 3:30 pm on Saturday that the adviser is suffering from appendicitis. The surgery is urgent, and it may be done at night."

The official also said that the adviser has no other complications.

Farooki fell ill while on a visit to Cox's Bazar on Saturday (August 16). He was later brought to Dhaka by air ambulance.
