Father, daughter killed in road crash in Bogura

A man and his four-year-old daughter were killed after their motorcycle was hit by an unidentified vehicle in Bogura’s Shahjahanpur upazila.

The crash tool place around 7:15am in the Banani area while the family was travelling to their village home ahead of Eid on Monday morning (May 25).

The deceased were identified as Anisur Rahman, 35, a resident of Gopalpur village in Sujanagar upazila of Pabna, and his daughter Ayesha.

Anisur’s wife, Pushpa, 25, was critically injured and admitted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura.

Confirming the incident, Shahjahanpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ashik Iqbal said Anisur worked for BRAC in Rangpur. He was travelling to Pabna with his wife and daughter on a motorcycle to celebrate Eid with family members when the accident occurred.

Police said the motorcycle was struck by an unidentified vehicle on the highway, causing the fatal crash.

The incident is currently being handled by Sherpur Highway Police, while efforts are underway to identify the vehicle involved in the accident.
