Father, son among 3 killed in Bogura road crash

At least three people, including a father and his five-year-old son, were killed in a tragic road accident in Bogura’s Sariakandi upazila early Friday morning (September 26), police said.

The incident took place around 6:30am in the Phulbari Kathaltola area, when a speeding truck collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, carrying passengers from the same family.

The deceased have been identified as Shukur Ali, 38, the auto-rickshaw driver; Bipul, 36; and his son Biplob, 5.

Bipul's wife Momota, 32, and their daughter Rupamoni, 9, were critically injured and are undergoing treatment in the neurosurgery unit of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZMC) in Bogura.

Police confirmed that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and legal proceedings are underway.
