Father, son killed in road crash in Mymensingh

A father and his toddler son were killed a pickup van rammed into a CNG-run autorickshaw in Mymensingh.

The accident took placde around 9:30am in the Alalpur area on the Mymensingh–Phulpur road on Saturday morning (May 30).

The deceased were identified as Jahangir, 32, and his two-and-a-half-year-old son, Ruhan.

According to police source and locals, the father and son were travelling towards Phulpur in a passenger autorickshaw when it collided head-on with an oncoming pickup van in the Alalpur area. The impact was severe, leaving both victims dead at the scene.

Police rushed to the spot after receiving information and recovered the bodies.

Confirming the incident, Sub-Inspector Farid Ahmed of Kotwali Model Police Station said efforts were underway to ensure normal traffic movement on the road following the crash.

Legal proceedings have been initiated, while authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
