Female anti-discrimination leader on strike at BCL leader’s home demanding marriage
A female leader of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has begun a strike at her boyfriend’s residence, demanding marriage. The incident took place in Ward No. 1 of Char Afzal village in Char Madraj Union. She has been continuing the strike for the past five days.
According to local sources, the girl was appointed co-coordinator of the Bhola district Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. She said she met her boyfriend during the movement, and their relationship later developed into friendship and love. The girl alleged that although the boyfriend grew close to her, he has now broken his promise to marry her. She also claimed that her boyfriend is connected to the banned student organization, Chhatra League.
It is also reported that the girl appeared for this year’s SSC exams but failed because she was unable to attend the practical exam.
On the other hand, the boyfriend’s family denied the allegations, saying, “Our son is innocent. Some people are trying to falsely accuse him as part of a conspiracy.”
Char Fasson Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rasna Sharmin Mithi said, “If the girl files a written complaint with the police or the upazila administration, legal action will be taken.”
This incident has sparked a stir in the area and is being widely discussed from social and political angles.
