Female tutor's body found wrapped in sack in student's house

Police have recovered the body of a female tutor wrapped in sack in Chapainawabganj town.

The body was recovered after receiving a call on the emergency service number 999 on Tuesday (May 19) morning.

The deceased Maryam Begum (a resident of Ujjwalpara area) used to go to a student's house for private tutoring locally. Her body was later recovered from that house.

According to police and local sources, Maryam Begum used to regularly tutor a fifth-grade student in the area. She did not return home after she went to teach on Monday.

Later, the family filed a general diary (GD) at the Sadar Model Police Station.

On Tuesday morning, after receiving a 999 call, the police raided the house of a couple named Rubel and Sumi. Maryam Begum's body was recovered from there in a sack.

Police said the body had injury marks on its head and lips and the earrings were torn.

Police have detained and interrogated a couple named Rubel and Sumi on suspicion of involvement in the incident.

Chapainawabganj Additional Superintendent of Police Wasim Firoz said that initially it is believed that the murder may have been committed for the purpose of looting gold ornaments.

He added that an investigation is underway and it is being investigated whether anyone else is involved in the incident.
