Feni University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. M. Jamaluddin Ahmed has resigned in the face of student protests.

He confirmed this information on Thursday (August 21) and said that he took this decision for personal reasons.

Meanwhile, Feni University students have been observing an indefinite 'shutdown' programme since Monday (August 18) for various demands, including a permanent campus.

In addition, the agitating students took up positions on the northern side of the Mahipal Flyover in Feni on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway from 12:30pm on Thursday. At that time, they blocked the highway and started a protest and started chanting various slogans.

The students' demands include - construction of a permanent campus, launching their own bus service, banning student politics, setting up a moot court room, stopping fines in the registration process, hiring adequate teachers, resigning the Vice-Chancellor and changing the chairman of the Board of Trustees.
