Ferry service resumes on Daulatdia–Paturia route after 8-hour halt
Ferry services on the Daulatdia–Paturia route resumed Friday at 9:50am after an eight-hour suspension due to dense fog.
Services had been temporarily halted from 2:30am Thursday as poor visibility on the Padma River posed safety risks.
Mohammad Salauddin, general manager (Commercial) of BIWTC’s Daulatdia office, said ferry operations restarted once visibility improved and navigation conditions were safe.
The prolonged suspension had stranded trucks, buses, and private vehicles at both terminals. With services back, traffic gradually returned to normal, providing relief to drivers, assistants, and passengers.
