Ferry services resume on Daulatdia-Paturia route after 4 hours

Ferry services on the Daulatdia in Rajbari and Paturia in Manikganj route have resumed after being suspended for 4 hours due to dense fog.

Ferry services resumed around 7:00am on Saturday (January 25).

Earlier, around 3:20am on Saturday, BIWTC authorities announced a complete closure of ferry traffic on this route to avoid accidents when the fog increased and the marking lights on the river route became dim. At this time, seven small and large ferries were anchored at the Daulatdia end.

BIWTC Daulatdia Ghat Assistant General Manager Md Salahuddin said after being closed for 3 hours and 40 minutes, ferry services resumed around 7:00am when the fog density decreased. The vehicles stuck at the ghat are being crossed in serial order. Currently, 12 ferries, both small and large, are plying on this waterway.
