Fifteen years of my life passed through repression and persecution: Mirza Fakhrul
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said 15 years of his life had passed through imprisonment, repression and persecution. He said the opportunity to vote has now arrived and, if utilised properly, it would allow people to elect the right leaders for the country.
He made the remarks at an exchange meeting organised by the Dairy Association Owners’ Association at the Manab Kallyan Parishad hall room in his home district Thakurgaon on January 31.
Mirza Fakhrul said politicians often face criticism in society and many people label them as thieves. However, he claimed no one would be able to prove such allegations against him.
He added that he has followed religious guidance and stayed away from all dishonest activities, which has given him inner strength and confidence.
The BNP secretary general said he remains clear to himself and to Allah because of practising honest politics. He also sought prayers and support from everyone.
At the meeting, he assured that if elected, he would sincerely work for overall development of the area and to solve existing problems.
