Fire at Ibn Sina medicine factory in Gazipur

Fire has broken out at the medicine factory of The Ibn Sina Pharmaceutical Industry Limited in Safipur area of Kaliakair upazila of Gazipur. Three units of the Fire Service are working to control the fire. Four more units are going to the spot.

The fire started in the herbal department of the factory around 4:30pm on Saturday (October 17). Later it spread rapidly.

It has been learnt from the factory authorities and Fire Service sources that the factory is located in Safipur area beside the Dhaka-Tangail highway.

A worker of the factory informed that the workers came out of the factory as soon as the fire broke out. The workers are trying to control the fire with the assistance of the own fire extinguishing system of the factory.

Officer of the Central Media Cell of the Directorate of Fire Service and Civil Defence Md. Talha Bin Jasim said that three units are working after receiving the news of the fire. Four more units are going to the spot. No news of the cause of the fire and the dead or injured has been received immediately.

Earlier a fire incident occurred at a medicine factory named Drug International in Cherag Ali area of Tongi of Gazipur last Wednesday.
