A fire that broke out at a jhut (waste fabric) warehouse in Dhaka’s Mirpur-11 was brought under control after about an hour of efforts on Friday morning. Shahjahan Hossain, the duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters control room, said the fire started around 6:58 am at a warehouse on Road No. 15/2, Block-C, Avenue-5 in Mirpur-11. In response to the emergency call, three firefighting units from nearby Mirpur Fire Station rushed to the scene and managed to bring the blaze under control after around one hour of efforts around&nbsp;8:00am. No casualties were reported in the incident, he said, adding that the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

রাজধানী ঢাকার মিরপুরে একটি ঝুটের গুদামে অগ্নিকাণ্ডের ঘটনা ঘটেছে। শুক্রবার (২৫ এপ্রিল) সকাল ৭টার দিকে মিরপুর ১১ নম্বরের সি ব্লকে একটি ঝুটের গুদাম থেকে এই আগুনের সূত্রপাত হয়। ফায়ার সার্ভিস জানায়, আগুন লাগার খবর পেয়ে নিয়ন্ত্রণে যোগ দিয়েছে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের ৩ ইউনিট। পরে সকাল ৮টার দিকে আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আসে। এখন আগুন পুরোপুরি নেভানোর কাজ চলছে। তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে আগুন লাগার কারণ ও সূত্রপাত সম্পর্কে জানা যায়নি। এ ছাড়াও এ ঘটনায় কোনো হতাহতের খবর পাওয়া যায়নি। এ ব্যাপারে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের কর্তব্যরত কর্মকর্তা মো. শাহজাহান হোসেন জানান, আগুন লাগার খবর পেয়ে নিয়ন্ত্রণে কাজ করছে ৩টি ইউনিট। আগুন লাগার কারণ ও ক্ষয়ক্ষতির পরিমাণ তদন্ত সাপেক্ষে জানা যাবে।
