Fire at Mohakhali petrol pump brought under control

A fire broke out at the Eureka Filling Station in Mohakhali, the capital city. The fire was brought under control within about half an hour.

The petrol pump is located near Rawa Club in Mohakhali.

Upon receiving the news, six fire service vehicles heading to the scene got stuck in traffic jams. Later, eleven vehicles from various fire stations arrived at the scene and controlled the fire.

Shihab Sarkar, duty officer of the Fire Service Headquarters, confirmed this information to the media.

The fire broke out around 7 PM on Sunday at the petrol pump adjacent to the Mohakhali bus stand.

When contacted, Fire Service officer Shihab Sarkar said, "We received the news of the fire at 7:18 PM and vehicles from various fire stations in the Tejgaon area were dispatched to the scene."

At 7:32 PM, he added, "We heard there was heavy traffic on the roads. The fire service vehicles could not reach the scene due to the traffic jam."

Later at 7:50 PM, he said, "The fire was brought under control at 7:47 PM."

The cause of the fire could not be immediately determined.
