A fire that broke out at the courier shed of the Cargo Village at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport has been brought under control, authorities said.
The blaze erupted on Friday night (June 5) in the cargo shed adjacent to Gate No. 9 of the airport .
Following the incident, four units of the Fire Service rushed to the scene and successfully contained the fire.
Group Captain Ragib Samad, executive director of the airport, said the fire was reported at 11:24pm and the Fire Service was immediately informed. Four firefighting units brought the fire under control by 11:38pm.
According to the Fire Service, crews arrived at the scene within three minutes of receiving the emergency call and began firefighting operations immediately.
