A fire broke out on the fifth and sixth floors of an Apex showroom building in Dhanmondi of Dhaka on Thursday morning (September 10). The fire erupted around 10am at the building on the northern side of Dhanmondi-27 Road, near Meena Bazar, according to Talha Bin Jasim, an official of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters media cell. Two units from Mohammadpur Fire Station are currently working to bring the blaze under control, while four more units have been dispatched to the scene, he said. No casualties or reports of anyone being trapped inside the building have been reported so far. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage were not immediately known.

রাজধানীর ধানমন্ডি ২৭ নম্বরে এপেক্সের একটি শোরুম ভবনে আগুন লাগার ঘটনা ঘটেছে। ফায়ার সার্ভিসের দুটি ইউনিট ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে কাজ করছে। বৃহস্পতিবার (১০ সেপ্টেম্বর) সকাল ১০টার দিকে এ অগ্নিকাণ্ডের ঘটনা ঘটে। তবে এ ঘটনায় এখন পর্যন্ত কোনো ব্যক্তি আহত বা আটকে পড়ার খবর পাওয়া যায়নি। এ ব্যাপারে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের সদর দপ্তরের মিডিয়া সেলের কর্মকর্তা তালহা বিন জসিম জানান, ধানমন্ডি ২৭ নম্বরে রাস্তার উত্তর দিকে মীনা বাজার থেকে দক্ষিণ দিকে অ্যাপেক্স ভবনের পঞ্চম ও ষষ্ঠ তলায় আগুনের ঘটনা ঘটে। ফায়ার সার্ভিসের সদস্যরা ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে কাজ শুরু করেন। তিনি আরও জানান, বর্তমানে মোহাম্মদপুর ফায়ার স্টেশনের দুটি ইউনিট আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে কাজ করছে। আরও চারটি ইউনিট ঘটনাস্থলের উদ্দেশে রওনা হয়েছে।
