Fire breaks out at electrical substation near FDC in Dhaka

A fire broke out at an electrical substation near the FDC intersection in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon (July 11).

The blaze erupted around 1:30pm at a substation located behind the Uttara Centre building in the FDC area.

Three firefighting units from Tejgaon Fire Station were dispatched to the scene and began operations to bring the fire under control, according to Lima Khanam, duty officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence Central Control Room.

However, the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were not immediately known.

Fire Service officials said an investigation would determine the origin of the blaze after the situation was fully brought under control.
