Fire breaks out at food shop in Mohammadpur

A fire broke out at a fast-food shop on Tajmahal Road in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area on Sunday morning (August 9), damaging most of the shop’s interior.

The fire started at CP Five Star Fast Food, located at Shop No. 1 in Block C, at around 8:55am, according to the Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Two units from Mohammadpur Fire Station rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control, duty officer Lima Khanam said.

No casualties were reported immediately. The extent of the property damage could not be determined at the time.

Police also sent a team to the scene after receiving reports of the fire, said Mohammad Jahangir, duty officer at Mohammadpur Police Station.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known. Fire service officials said they would assess the damage and investigate the cause after completing the firefighting operation.
