Fire breaks out at garment factory in Kalshi

A fire broke out at a ready-made garment factory in Kalshi of the capital.

The fire broke out on the sixth floor of a six-story commercial building around 10 pm on Friday. As of last information, 10 units of fire service are working to put out the blaze.

Rakib Al Hasan, duty officer of the fire service controlroom, said that the fire broke out on the sixth floor of a six-story building near Chandrabindu intersection in Kalshi around 10 pm.

Upon receiving the news, four units of Kurmitola fire station immediately went to the scene. Later, six more units joined the firefighting effort.

Eyewitnesses said that the factory was closed as it was Friday.

Locals say that the building houses a community center where the fire is raging. Hundreds of eager people are crowded under the building.
