Fire breaks out at musician Bappa Majumdar’s Banani residence
A fire broke out at the Banani residence of renowned musician Bappa Majumdar on Thursday morning. The blaze originated on the ground floor of the building.
According to Majumdar, he was alerted via an intercom call and encountered heavy smoke and darkness when attempting to exit the house. The flames reportedly reached close to his face, forcing him to take refuge on the balcony with his wife, actress Tania Hossain, and their two daughters.
In the midst of the emergency, Majumdar contacted lyricist Shahan Kabandh, who was nearby. With assistance, the family was able to evacuate safely.
In a social media post, Bappa Majumdar expressed gratitude to the Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense for their prompt response, stating that the family narrowly escaped harm.
He described the experience as traumatic and said, "It would take time to fully recover from the mental impact."
