A fire broke out on the 12th floor of a 14-storey residential building in Katabon on Elephant Road in the capital. The fire service quickly reached the spot after receiving information about the fire at around 1:05 am on Friday. The fire service headquarters said that a total of five units, including the Palashi fire station, are currently working to control the fire. However, the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are not yet known. The fire service also said that no casualties have been reported so far.

রাজধানীর এলিফ্যান্ট রোডের কাঁটাবনে একটি ১৪ তলা আবাসিক ভবনের ১২তলায় আগুন লেগেছে। শুক্রবার দিবাগত রাত ১টা ৫ মিনিটের দিকে অগ্নিকাণ্ডের খবর পেয়ে দ্রুত ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছায় ফায়ার সার্ভিস। ফায়ার সার্ভিসের সদর দপ্তর জানিয়েছে, বর্তমানে পলাশী ফায়ার স্টেশনসহ মোট পাঁচটি ইউনিট আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে কাজ করছে। তবে আগুনের কারণ এবং ক্ষয়ক্ষতির পরিমাণ এখনও জানা যায়নি। এ পর্যন্ত কোনো হতাহতের খবর পাওয়া যায়নি বলেও জানিয়েছে ফায়ার সার্ভিস।
