Fire breaks out in grocery store in Ashulia
A fire broke out at a grocery store in Norsinghpur of Ashulia, due to a gas cylinder leakage. Upon receiving the news, four fire service units have arrived to control the flames.
The fire started at around 7:00pm on Saturday, May 10, at the shop of Karim Mia, located on the Norsinghpur-Kashimpur regional road in Ashulia. A total of four units, two from Zirabo and two from DEPZ Fire Service, are working to control the fire at the scene. Further details will be provided later.
Locals reported that it took the fire service about 1.5 hours to reach the site after being notified. In the meantime, the locals arranged for water to control the fire. However, there is concern as many gas cylinders are stored in the shop, raising fears of a more dangerous blaze.
Abu Sayem Masum, Senior Station Officer of Zirabo Fire Service, mentioned that heavy traffic on the road caused a delay in their arrival. More information will be provided later.
