A fire broke out on a ferry named 'Keramat Ali' after it had loaded passengers and departed from Patuia Ferry Ghat in Manikganj, causing panic among those on board. The incident occurred around 6:00 pm on Friday, March 27. According to witnesses, the fire started suddenly after the ferry had travelled some distance from the ghat. As news of the fire spread, passengers began screaming and many tried to move to safer areas. Crew members quickly attempted to bring the fire under control. Later, the situation was brought under control, according to reports. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed. No casualties have been reported immediately. Concerned authorities said they are investigating the incident.

মানিকগঞ্জের পাটুরিয়া ফেরিঘাট থেকে লোডিং শেষ করে ছেড়ে যাওয়ার পর ‘কেরামত আলী’ নামের একটি ফেরিতে হঠাৎ আগুন লাগার ঘটনা ঘটেছে। এতে ফেরিতে থাকা যাত্রী, চালক ও সহকারীদের মধ্যে ব্যাপক আতঙ্ক ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। শুক্রবার (২৭ মার্চ) সন্ধ্যা আনুমানিক ৬টার দিকে এ ঘটনা ঘটেছে। প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীরা জানান, ফেরিটি ঘাট ছেড়ে কিছু দূর যাওয়ার পর হঠাৎ আগুনের সূত্রপাত হয়। আগুনের খবর ছড়িয়ে পড়লে যাত্রীদের মধ্যে চিৎকার-চেঁচামেচি শুরু হয় এবং অনেকেই নিরাপদ স্থানে সরে যাওয়ার চেষ্টা করেন। ফেরির কর্মচারীরা দ্রুত আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনতে চেষ্টা চালান। পরে পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণে আসে বলে জানা গেছে। তবে আগুন লাগার সঠিক কারণ এখনও নিশ্চিত হওয়া যায়নি। তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে কোনো হতাহতের খবর পাওয়া যায়নি। এ ঘটনায় সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষ বিষয়টি খতিয়ে দেখছে বলে জানিয়েছে।
