Fire doused at Motel Saikat Bar and Restaurant in Ctg after 1.15 hours

A fire at Motel Saikat Bar and Restaurant in Chattogram Station Road has been brought under control after approximately an hour and a quarter of firefighting efforts.

Upon receiving the alert at 8:45am, firefighters from the Nandankanan and Agrabad offices unit dispatched to the scene and contained thye blaze by 9:30am. The fire was completely extinguished by 10:00am.

According to Imran Hossain, warehouse inspector of the Fire Service Nandankanan office, the fire caused significant damage to the furniture and decorative items, with losses estimated between 8 to 10 lakh taka.

On the other hand, the bar's authorities estimating the damage at 15 to 20 lakh taka.

However, no casualties were reported in the incident.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though the bar's authorities suggest an electrical short circuit as the probable origin.

The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause and assess the full extent of the damage.
