Fire engulfs cotton warehouse in Tongi, 7 fire units deployed

A fire broke out at a cotton warehouse in Gazipur's Tongi this noon (November 8).

The blaze started around 12:00pm on Station Road in Tongi Millgate area. Seven units of Tongi Fire Service are working to bring the blaze under control.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing thick black smoke, prompting locals to attempt extinguishing the fire before calling the national emergency number 999.

Gazipur Fire Service Assistant Director Mohammad Mamun said the fire service personnel are still on-site, working to control the fire. As of 1:15pm, the blaze had not yet been fully contained.
