Fire engulfs Motel Saikat Bar and Restaurant in Ctg

A fire erupted at the Motel Saikat Bar and Restaurant, a prominent property under Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, located on Station Road in Chattogram.

The blaze was reported at 8:45am on Monday (August 25), the Fire Service and Civil Defense's Agrabad control room confirmed.

Three fire trucks from two different units were dispatched to the location. Firefighters are currently working to bring the blaze under control, but it remains uncontrolled as of the latest update.

Authorities are investigating the cause and the extent of the damage.

This is the second major incident involving the establishment in recent years; the bar was previously looted by miscreants on August 5 of the previous year, who also vandalized parts of the structure. The business was subsequently renovated and reopened.
